In May 2006, a deadly cloud was widely distributed to the hill, hundreds of hectares of forest and fields, destroyed in the north and south. Located between Yogyakarta and the Province of Jawa Tengah, Merapi Mountain has made a strategic importance and in agriculture. Billions of farmers depend, in particular its substance. They believe that the dust fertilize the soil. Scientists are in agreement with the farmer. The dust is the best organic fertilizer once, it is cheap and easy to use. Dead River in some of the mountain, there are some sand mining. The sand is the best sand for construction in Indonesia.
When a volcanic mountain has for thousands of years, Merapi Mountain a beautiful landscape and nature. A mountain with the street lying in the middle and the green spread on both sides ornamented with people’s houses will release tiredness in the frame of nature painting. Covered with the breeze, even when the sun is over our head, the coolness is still felt. The air dancing through the trees and slowly going down hill gives fresh feeling to our body. The view of Merapi Mountain gives special sensation in this area. Just like village girls who will cover their face when we look at them, this mountain will also be covered with fog when we come to see it.
It is the best place for trekking in June-August. You can choose from Kinahrejo Village, steep trail start to the peak for 8 hours or start Selo Village for five hours. If you’re lucky, Mount Semeru is the highest mountain in the island of Java, will appear at the top. The trail through the 45-degree rock-dominated. It is an unusual volcano trekking. At the top you will see volcanic eruption in the next screen, ever. It’s a pretty deadly mountain.
